Howard Kleinberg

Spotlight on Chef Howard Kleinberg

Howard Kleinberg

If you’re a foodie, you know that name from somewhere, don’t you?

Here’s a hint: Let’s just say he’s a Top Chef — in every sense of the words. Chances are you’ll remember Kleinberg as the outspoken, brash, bald-headed culinarian from Season 3 of Top Chef, where his diverse cuisine and penchant for saying exactly what’s on his mind made him one of the more memorable competitors on the long-running Bravo series.

Chef Howard KleinbergToday, Kleinberg is at the helm of sister restaurants Bulldog Barbecue and Bulldog Burger. They sit side-by-side in North Miami and are the destination for high end barbecue comfort food-seekers across the city. Chef Howard recently sat down with us here at GoRare.com to discuss his Top Chef past and how it’s shaped who he is today.

He’s been a long-time user of Certified Angus Beef ® brand products in his restaurants, and he touts the consistency and flavor content of his brisket to his customers and competitors alike. Listen in as The Bulldog talks brisket.

Recently, he joined chefs Michelle Brown from Jag’s Steak & Seafood in West Chester, Ohio, and Rory Schepisi from Boot Hill Saloon in Vega, Texas, as featured chefs at the grand opening of the Certified Angus Beef ® Education & Culinary Center. Kleinberg’s dish offered him the opportunity to try something a little different than he does at his restaurant, and brought raves from the dining crowd. The Dish from the Bulldog.

Up next: Chef Rory Schepisi.

Bryan is a modern-day Hamburglar, minus the mask and kitschy catch phrase. There’s not a burger on the planet he wouldn’t take on — even those token ones for customers with less-adventurous palates. In his spare time, he’s a soccer junkie, musician, husband and father of the most adorable little carnivores this side of Jurassic Park.
