Jersey Mike's sub shop

Calling Jersey Mike’s a sub shop seems like an understatement. It’s a chain of restaurants that maintains a local vibe where quite often, everyone really does know your name. The folks at Jersey Mike’s put premium quality and freshness at the forefront of their business model. To customers, that means roast beef is cooked and sliced daily, right in the store and in front of customers.  And to ensure the best taste and quality, Jersey Mike’s serves the Certified Angus Beef ® brand.

A guy named Mike opened the first Jersey Mike’s location in 1956 in Point Pleasant, N.J It was later purchased by — get this! — a 17-year-old high school kid. Talk about childhood ambition!

Today, CEO Peter Cancro still owns Jersey Mike’s. The company had 170 stores in 2000 and today, more than 750 locations serve hungry customers.

Chef Michael Ollier of the Certified Angus Beef brand visits Jersey Mike's sub shop

Travel Perks. On our way to Cincinnati, Chef Michael Ollier and I stopped at a Jersey Mike’s for lunch. I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. It was a great decision — and a tasty one, too.
